Nursing exams rarely ask you to recall a fact on its own. They describe a client and ask what you'd notice, what it means, and what you'd do first. NursingPlex questions are written the same way, so the real exam feels familiar.
Getting a question right by luck teaches you nothing, and getting it wrong without knowing why teaches you even less. Every NursingPlex rationale explains:

A client receiving IV magnesium sulfate for preeclampsia has absent patellar reflexes and a respiratory rate of 10/min. What should the nurse do first?
B. Stop the infusion. Absent reflexes and a respiratory rate below 12 are signs of magnesium toxicity. Stopping the drug comes first; then notify the provider and prepare calcium gluconate, the antidote. Increasing or continuing the infusion worsens toxicity, and waiting an hour delays care for a client whose breathing is already slowing.
The rule: when a high-alert drug causes toxicity, stop the drug before anything else.

Nursing practice changes. Oxygen is no longer routine for every heart attack. Asthma inhalers are used differently than they were a few years ago. Mastitis care has been rewritten. Many study books still teach the old answers. NursingPlex content is:
Take a timed, mixed practice test. Your lowest two or three subjects are where your next study hours will do the most good.
Review those subjects with a high-yield guide. Focus on concepts and safety rules, not long lists of facts.
Do questions every day, a mix of focused topic sets and mixed sets, and read every rationale, even for the ones you got right.
Log each miss: knowledge gap, priority error, misread, or changed answer. The pattern tells you exactly what to change.
NursingPlex supports the ATI TEAS 7 and HESI A2 entrance exams, ATI and HESI course and exit exams (including the ATI Comprehensive Predictor), and the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN licensure exams.
Both the NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN have between 85 and 150 questions, with a five-hour time limit that includes breaks. The exam is adaptive, so the number of questions depends on how you perform.
NGN items measure clinical judgment. They include unfolding case studies of six linked questions, and item types such as matrix, drop-down (cloze), bowtie, highlight and trend questions. Each NCLEX includes three case studies plus stand-alone clinical judgment items.
Many graduates study for 6–8 weeks with daily practice questions, but the right length depends on your starting point. A timed practice test at the beginning tells you how much review you need.
Quality matters more than quantity. 50–100 questions a day with careful rationale review is a common target in the final weeks before the NCLEX; earlier in school, 20–30 a day keeps content fresh.
Treat each option as a true-or-false statement about this specific client. Don't guess based on how many answers "usually" apply: any number from one to all of the options can be correct.
No. They're often wrong, they don't teach the reasoning that exams measure, and using or sharing real exam content can break exam rules and your school's academic integrity policy. Original practice questions with good rationales prepare you better.
